Wow, it's February 1st already, the first month of 2016 is already over. Not only is it Harry Styles birthday (Happy Birthday Harry, I love you) but it's also the month of love. Yes, that's right, Valentine's is approaching fast and you better hurry on getting something set up for the special day / weekend. But I got you covered, here are perfect ways to say I love you to your significant other and make then feel special and also win you some brownie points. Ladies show this to your men!!!!

Things to do for Valentine’s day

1. Take a trip to Whistler to do some skiing and sightseeing. There are plenty of fantastic restaurants to take your lady so you can tell her to dress up. Stay at any of the great hotels and end the trip with a spa day to Scandinave Spa.

2. My personal favourite for Valentines would be a weekend getaway to Vancouver Island and staying in Tofino. Not only is it a beautiful peaceful little town (especially this time of year) but also there is great restaurants and even better surfing. This is such a relaxing and perfect re-treat right in our back yard. This one wins my vote, I actually spent last Valentines there and I would do it again.

3. If you are all about nature and serenity then take a water taxi or ferry over to Bowen Island. Explore what this quant little Island has to offer with local boutiques, fair trade goods and beautiful views. And check out Bowen Island Yoga which is offering a Partner workshop that day, perfect for those yoga lovers.

4. If your girl is a fashionista then maybe a little shopping trip is in order. With tons of great shopping in the Vancouver area, like the European feel of McArthurglen outlets or the beautiful Nordstrom store and of course Gastown. Make her feel pampered, after shopping taking her out for either coffee or drinks before you head to a nice dinner with so many places to choose from but if your already in Gastown then stay there as there is tons of fantastic places such as L’Abattoir, Ask for Luigi and Tuc Craft Kitchen, just to name a few.

5. Another great and simple way to make things a bit more exciting especially if you are staying in the city is to get a hotel room for the night and feel like a tourist in your own city. Rent a car or if you have one, go to those places you have not explored yet, take her for a nice walk, drive up one of the mountains and get an amazing view of the city. Take her wherever she wants to go and just have fun, relax and enjoy each others company. Or just stay in your hotel room if you want, order room service, cuddle, then take her out for a fancy meal and End with wine and whatever else you desire.
