As you can see for yourself, this place was so surreal. As we drove to it and started to see this majestic castle sticking up from the earth, it just felt like I was looking at a fairy tale castle, I could not believe my eyes. This is definitely one of the most beautiful things I have seen. When we arrived there the tide was low so the water so gone and you could walk out on the ground (but watch out for quick sand) and get a good picture. But it is so neat because depending on the tide, it could be completely surrounded by water, when we felt the tide was coming in and coming in fast. So cool to see.

Inside the walls of this fortress is a complete town filled with shops and great views. We walked all the way to the top and could a tour through the church and castle at the very top. Everywhere you look, it is filled with beauty and rich history. This is why I love Europe, so much history and beauty everywhere to go.

I would definitely recommend coming here if you are traveling in Europe and going to France. It is also close to St. Malo which also has an old town in the middle of the water, but more on that in my next post.

More travel posts here.

xoxo
