2016
I just want to reflect a bit on 2016 not just because it is fun to look back but also to really see what I did this year and see if I accomplished things I wanted to or whatever. So here is a little journey back to this year.
January
- January started off with a bang, as I had surgery on my knee on the 4th and then moved away from home again and back to Vancouver. So it was a big month, though not a lot of moving seeing as my walking was not that great. I had to do exercises and try to get my knee healed, so obviously I was not working which meant spending lots of time at home with my boyfriend and going to physio.
February
- This month was basically the same boring routine of January.
March
- I started working again, it was a bit of a challenge getting use to standing for a long time I remember. Also I hated my job, I was feeling really happy in the beginning of the tar but that job started to bring me down a bit.
April
- Too get away from the job and also because I told myself I wanted to make travel more of a priority in my life, my friend and I went to California to soak some sun. We stayed in a Airbnb in Long Beach, we went to Disneyland and we had a GREATTT time. I got to meet Winnie the Pooh which was a dream of mine since I was little (#dreamcometrue).Though my friend caught the stomach flu while we were there unfortunately and then I got it when we got back, then gave it to my boyfriend. Not a fun way to end the trip.
May
- I don't remember much about May other then going to an Etsy event and most likely taking lots of sunset photos!!!
June
- June is my boyfriends birthday month so we celebrated his birthday by getting out of the city and exploring the Sea to Sky and going up the gondola which has the most breathtaking views. I also ate lots of ice cream.
July
- Again, don't remember too much (must have been uneventful) but the fireworks always start at the end of the month which I also love. But I am pretty sure I ate even more ice cream.
August
- More fireworks for the Celebration of lights. My boyfriend and I got to see the Prime Minister right outside our balcony during the gay pride parade and we thought that was pretty cool. His security was tight!!! Also I had finally quit my awful job.
September
- This month started off amazing because my parents did a road trip down to see us and it was SOOO good having them here and showing them around. We did lots of exploring like going to Whistler, taking the ferry to Vancouver Island and just showing them around the city. I also started my new job which was also my old old job and started to feel much happier this month.
October
- I love October. It is my favourite month, it is just so beautiful outside with all the colourful leaves and the air is a perfect temperature. At the end of the month I went home for a visit because my sister and her 2 kids who live in Sweden were coming out for a visit as well. I spent 2 weeks there which leads me into November.
November
- Obviously started this month in Manitoba, back home in Carman. I celebrated Halloween with my ever so adorable nieces and nephews and went trick or treating with them wearing matching Unicorn Onesies with my sisters and Mom. Then a few days later, celebrated my birthday with a cozy dinner at home and also the best night out. We went to Real Escape which is where you get put in a room with clues and have to try and figure your way out before you run out of time. SOOO much fun, I highly recommend and then another dinner out. Then rest of my time home was spent with family and friends just enjoying the company of them until my return home to a busy work load.
December
- Obviously busy work month with Christmas coming, which I also prepared for (well kind of...not so much with gifts) I also love the anticipation to christmas with everything super cozy with music, warm drinks and such things. We had snow in Vancouver, the most we have had since we moved here for sure. And well now we are at the up of the month and today is the last day so today is all about being happy and grateful for the great year I had and celebrating the start of a new year which will hopefully top 2016 and be the best year yet!!!
Let's do this 2017!!!!
