5 things to do in Long Beach, California

I only had a limited amount of time on my vacation and so most of it was spent in Long Beach where we were staying. But I must say that I love the location and the area. It was full of life and beauty. I would definitely recommend staying there and here are 5 things that you can do while there.

1. Take a walk through the neighbourhood. We stayed in Belmont Shore which is mostly residential and it is such a cozy, quiet and safe neighbour. I loved just walking along the streets and taking photos of the beautiful homes and area. There is other great neighbours in the area as well like Belmont Heights, Peninsula and Naples.

2. Go to the beach. This one is pretty self explanatory, your in Long Beach, California...you have to go to the beach. And seriously the beach is so nice, it is so long (guess that's where they go the name from) and the area we were at was a dog friendly beach area so if you love dogs, then you need to check it out as there was so many cute dogs chasing balls and swimming in the ocean.

3. Shop and eat on 2nd street. You can find great places to eat and shop here. 2nd street is the main street in the area and it is full of bars, restaurants, vintage and other clothing stores, spa and more. It was only 2 blocks away from where we stayed and only 4 blocks from the beach. The whole area is very walkable and pedestrian friendly.

4. Take a drive to Disneyland. Okay, this one isn't technically in Long Beach but from Long Beach to Disneyland in Anaheim is only a half hour drive away. So if you are renting a car, it is no problem if not an Uber drive is only about $22 and if it is your first time then you can get some money off so it is well worth it and then you are at DISNEYLAND!!!!!!

5. Enjoy the sunsets. One of my favourite experiences and things to do was to watch the sunset in the evening, weather it was from the beach (probably the best place to view it) or from a roof top terrace, you don't want to miss it. And if you have a glass of wine or two and a camera, well that makes it even better.
