After spending the day in Bruges, we started our drive into France. We drove along the coast of Northern France and as you can see from these pictures, it is so gorgeous. We had spent the night in Calais, which I have to say was not great. The only reason we stayed there was because it was along the way and close to some things we wanted to see.

We went to La Coupole, which was built by the German army so they could built new weapons, like the flying bombs and rockets to use on England. The things that happened there and the things I learnt are just crazy and seem surreal. I can't imagine things like this happening, even though this world is still full of it. Anyways, it was good to see. After that we drove more by the coast and saw more war sights while sightseeing around the area. We had a nice picnic lunch by the sea with bread, confit and wine. So nice and funny when we had to try and run out cause the tide was rising. haha!

I just couldn't get over the beautiful colour of the water. It was more vibrant then I was expecting and everywhere you looked it was so beautiful. Which is weird, because all these horrible events happened here but the beauty is just stunning, so it's a weird combination. But all in all, it was a great experience and I am glad we went and saw all of this.
